Tips on How to Set Your Family Up for a Successful School Year
As a teacher turned professional organizer, I know the importance of implementing routines. For our kids, routines create structure. Kids thrive on schedules! Now that summer is coming to a close, it's time to get back to those routines. It's time to go through old toys and start fresh for the upcoming year.
Setting Up Routines
Implementing new/old routines back into schedule can be hard. Talk with your child prior and create/draw/write out the new routines to check their understanding.
I'm sharing the routine chart that I have used with my daughter. It worked really well! I printed the papers on card stock, laminated them and used velcro for the little pieces. I likes this chart because she is able to move the task after is is completed.
EDIT: Decide what toys you are getting rid of and what is staying.
DONATE: Have designated piles for trash, donate and give away. Put the donate bag into your car right away to give away.
PLAN: Make a plan of where the toys will go.
MEASURE: Measure the spaces to see what product will work best.
RESEARCH: Research what product will fit in your space.
BUY: Buy products.
INSTALL: Install product + label!
Watch How I use a Keepsake Box
I love using a file box for my kiddos school and artwork. I always suggest these when working with clients with kiddos.
This system will help and keep you organized daily when papers (that you want to keep) come home. No more papers all over the house!
Go to the link in my bio and get your file bin to start your school year off on the right 🦶 ORGANIZED!
