Stock Up For Spring Cleaning With The Container Store

pro organizer tackles spring cleaning

Welcome spring! Here at AO, we have been busy prepping families & homes for the upcoming season.

One thing we LOVE to organize is a good cleaning station! Cleaning isn’t always fun - but having the correct materials available to you (AND organized!) can totally help.

Nothing is less motivating than going to complete a spring cleaning project & realizing you don’t have the right materials OR can’t find them as your cleaning supplies is spread out all over your home. Suddenly, a one-hour project turns into a supplies hunt, a trip to the store with your toddler in tow, AND zero energy left to tackle cleaning out your fridge. 🥱

In addition, newly cleaned spaces often benefit from organizing products to help keep them tidy. Now, you need to take a trip to The Container Store!

This is why we always recommend starting the spring cleaning season by stocking up & creating a cleaning station.

Start With The Right Organizing Product

An organized cleaning station starts with the right organizing product! When it comes to organizing cleaning products, we always recommend using acrylic. Acrylic is sturdy & SUPER easy to rinse out and clean, unlike cloth or wood bins. With the possibility of spills and dirt accumulating with cleaning supplies, acrylic is the best choice. Here - are three products we love to use when organizing cleaning supplies.

  • XL turntables are great for under-sink storage or corner cabinets. These are great for those who have lots of specialty cleaners as they hold a ton of product & spin so all items are accessible.

  • When storing cleaning supplies in a deep cabinet or under the sink, deep bins are a great solution. We also love them for storing backstock cleaning supplies as you can contain like items in each bin.

  • Have a smaller space or don’t need a ton of storage for cleaning supplies? Stackable all-purpose bins & bin organizer inserts are a great combo for storing cleaning concentrates, sponges, and tools.

Declutter What You Don’t Need & Stock Up On What You Do

Before setting up your cleaning station, it’s important to toss (or donate!) cleaning supplies you no longer need. If it’s old, expired, or unlabeled, we recommend tossing it. If it’s unopened, try donating it to a local school or animal shelter.

Although we have always loved using organizing product from The Container Store, we only recently realized they also contain a huge selection of cleaning products! This is great if you're short on time or looking to try out some high-end cleaning products & tools - we were super impressed by all the options they had. Bonus: the cleaning items tend to be aesthetically pleasing for those who are motivated by ✨ pretty things ✨

We started setting up our cleaning station by purchasing an over the door organizing solution as well as a few new cleaning brushes to test out.

Contain & Label

Now that you have all your cleaning essentials & the organizing product, it’s time to get things setup! We installed our over the door organizer & used baby bins to sort each category.

Start by sorting each cleaning item by categories. Common ones we use include cleaning tools, bathroom cleaners, everyday cleaning, and speciality cleaners. Make your categories work for you & your homes specific needs.

After sorting your categories, place each item into its designated bin. Finish off with a label & admire your work!

We promise - having these items easily accessible and organized will make spring cleaning much more achievable within your home.
