Tackle Spring Cleaning Like a Professional Organizer
Here, in sunny Arizona, the transition from winter to spring isnβt much of a change! Regardless of the weather, I love when it starts to βwarm upβ a bit and I begin to feel motivated to air out the house, tackle new projects, and get things tidied before the busyness of the summer hits.
Using an organizational approach is the best way to begin house spring cleaning! Here are my top tricks for tackling your spring cleaning - professional organizer style.
Follow A Daily Schedule
Maintenance is one of the biggest things that helps with keeping your house clean and tidy. It can be so overwhelming to ignore a mess within your home until the weekend or end of the month - doing small things everyday helps decrease the stress!
As a professional organizer, I recommend a quick daily reset to keep things clean and organized.

Organize Your Cleaning Supplies Storage
Nothing is worse than feeling motivated to clean & organize and not being able to find what you need - or realizing itβs run out! Updating your cleaning products storage will give you a head start when it comes time to start spring cleaning.
Start by gathering all your cleaning products into one area. Whether you decide to store them under your kitchen sink or in the laundry room, having all your items in one area makes spring cleaning much easier.
Purge old and unused products. The money has already been spent and the space taken - get rid of or give away what you donβt use!
Sort items by type or use. Common categories include bathroom cleaning products, sponges and scrubbing tools, cleaning rags, and everyday cleaning.
Contain items and label. We love to use a large turntable, deep bins, and talented kitchen labels for organizing our cleaning products.
Tackle One Space At A Time
A huge part of completing house spring cleaning is in the planning! It is so easy to get overwhelmed and not finish - we recommend breaking it down by task or room and focusing on one thing at a time.
Part of your planning should include decluttering items you no longer need and creating a plan for where they will go. Remember, less stuff = less stuff to clean!
